Second day in Tokyo. After my catastrophic arrival to the hostel i met the Colombian woman that recommended me places to go for today. So I decided to try to go to Shinjuku. I am sure there I could find an Information centre. I get there easily, the trains are awesome and so easy to understand that I would never leave them if I could! And I went off the station and I got lost ... lost searching the information centre ... nice ... Thank god a nice man that was english put me in the right direction and 20 min later I reached the information centre. The woman gave me a lot of maps and directions and i first went to the observatory (same building) its weird to get into a lift and there is only 3 buttons 1, 2 and 45 and it starts, you can count 1 ... ... 2 ... ... and then pum! you are in level 45!!! as if it was a rocket!!! wow I can prove now that level 45 is not enough to take a little glance of the city, its sooo big!!!!! Then I went back to the station to go to the other side, that apparently was good. It was just a lot of shops and show, that it was nice, but quite dissappointing, or at least not what i wanted to see in that moment. At lunch I jumped on the train again, I love these trains theyre so good, and I went to Asakusa. That was freakin awesome. That was what I wanted to see. Japan old and typical style, temples, trees, human taxis ... tourists with cameras!
I had a nice walk in the area, took lots of pictures and I reached to the entrance of the temple. Then I saw like a big fire and people inhalating the fire like it was "cleaning" their souls (and apparently it has to be like this!) on the side, there was a big fountain, with people washing their hands and having a little sip of water to wash their mouth as well. And then a man came to talk to me, perhaps because he saw my face of surprise ... he explained me everything, how the thing worked, the game of good and bad luck in the temple (I got bad luck but then I put the paper in a place so the temple can guard me from the bad luck) and he also gave me recommendations for tomorrow (to Nikko and the imperial palace) and a japanese thing to keep you warm called "hotto", its like a bag that looks like a kid toy and when you open it and put it in your pocket keeps you warm ... amazing. he must saw that i got a cold and felt sorry for me hehehehe we took a picture together with mr Hideo and exchange emails and I will send him my impressions about Nikko. I went into a little shop to buy some fruit, there was an old woman, that laughed about my bag and starts saying: piiiig! jajajaja piiiiig!!! (I dont know why it was that funny ....)
After that I came back to the hostel (at 4pm) because it was getting dark, and I started talking to everybody in messenger, skype or googletalk. First I talked with Dhammika, and then Jon and afterwards my parents. I miss Australiaaaaa! its my home too u know that. I went to have dinner in McDonalds and came back to have more internet. Because when you are travelling alone you feel more than ever the need to talk with people.
Until now i was making friends in the hostel. Eric and Jake. Eric is from Hong Kong, and its his first time in Japan. He is so scared but enjoying the country a lot, speaks bad english but is funny. Jake is from Indiana, US, and arrived here december 1st to go hiking to beautiful places all around Japan. He missed his flight today, so he is staying until 23rd. They both went for a walk now (separately) but its so cold outside that i am gonna go to sleep soon, because tomorrow Nikko is waiting for me, very soon. I should catch the train around 7am!!! Too early!!!
PS1: Next time in Japan remember what they taught you in GSM, GPRS classes, Japan does not have GSM! its another frequency !!! result = my phone is totally dead.
PS2: Electronics are not cheaper, same price
PS3: The toilets are awesome, I think they can even massage your bottom!!! bufff!
Thats all for today, I miss you all more than ever! Love
